So the essential thing in the gospel is to present what Christ did on the cross. THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS, even though it might looks foolish, it is the message that alone has the power to save men.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:16  that Baptizing people is not really his priority but to preach the gospel. Even though some things such as signs and wonders accompany the gospel ,they not the major focus of the gospel. It is the gospel that causes signs and wonders to follows, it is not the gospel; that should follow signs.
