The authority of your teaching ministry will be predicated on your level of obedience.
Jesus Christ started his ministry first by doing, it was after he has mastered what it is to teach that he began teaching. So, authority is given in the place of teaching when you have mastered the principle yourself.
There will be a problem of your hearing God if you are not obeying him.
The last time you hear God is the last time you obeyed him.
