The Bible clearly states that God is love. God’s love spills over into every book of the Bible.
God is love, and He loves us so much. He made the ultimate sacrifice by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to save us from our sins. The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell; it goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell.

Love of God can mean either love for God or love by God.  The love of God was demonstrated by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to make it possible for us to be forgiven and to become children of God. Love for God (philotheia) is associated with the concepts of worship, and devotions towards God.
