Leadership takes strength. Leadership needs spiritual, physical, mental and emotional capacity. Every human being is called to lead. Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
The leader’s anointing established a leader’s God-placed position and gave him the power to fulfill the role.
A REAL LEADER HAS THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:
- They have a clear vision Matthew 15:14, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” A leader must see clearly where he is going. He must see ahead.
- They set goals. The goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and must be time bound.
- A leader is to proffer solutions to issues of life.
What makes a leader? There is no word that fully describes what and who a leader should be but we know that as a good leader there must be that anointing that should be present in your life. Looking at the life of biblical leaders including Jesus Christ, there was a something about them, their characters which caused people to follow them whole-heartedly, this is something is simply called God’s anointing. Even good leaders can fail without being ordained by God, because that ‘anointing’ is the catalyst for anybody who leads to succeed.
