Demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Taking your thoughts captive simply means gaining control over what you think about yourself and life.
Mere intellect will not dismantle the deeply rooted errors of our mind but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
That means that I have a chance to do something about all thoughts that are not well-pleasing to God, before they enter my heart and become a part of me! “As a man thinks, so is he.” Proverbs 23:7. What we think about is crucial to who we are.
“If anything is out of sync with the Bible’s teaching, we should let it be destroyed.”
